In this new blog series, The Curious Collection of Mr. Taulbut, we are going to be taking a look into the life and legacy of one of Missions most prominent and intriguing figures, Anthony Taulbut.
After twenty years at sea with the Royal Navy, Mr. Taulbut arrived in Mission in 1908. He did not, however, come empty-handed. He was an avid collector of interesting things and had acquired quite the collection along his travels. These artifacts have become the foundation of the Museum collection. It is nearly impossible to visit the Mission Museum without seeing an artifact from Anthony Taulbut’s original collection.
Every week, we will be exploring a new artifact from ‘the curious collection of Mr. Taulbut.’
